floppy/S2 driver status?

Any news on the Floppy/S2 driver for linux?

Despite its name, the Linux firedtv driver controls not only FireDTV boxes but also FloppyDTV cards. The firedtv driver will be available in the mainline Linux kernel from 2.6.29-rc7 on.

At the moment, standard definition channels (DVB-S standard) can be watched, but not high definition channels (DVB-S2 standard). Somebody needs to adapt the driver to a new Linux DVB kernel API for that, the so-called S2API.

Also, somebody told me that it was not possible to scan for channels on a FireDTV-S2. It is not clear yet if this is a driver bug or something else with the particular setup.

Also with Kernel 2.6.29.1 (where this issue should be resolved) i can't tune to any channel (Floppy s2): Timeout because the driver is unable to get a lock

scanning transponders and creating a channels.conf worked.

Any ideas?

Edit: Never mind. I updated the Firmware from 1.4.0 to 1.5.2 and everything is fine now - except CAM, but there may be many Reasons.

Is HD-channels supported yet? Scan finds all SD-channels but no HD.

Ubuntu 9.04 + custom kernel 2.6.31

Any News on the dvb-s2 subject? I am also not able to tune in the dvb-s2 channels. Using latest mythtv (mythbuntu 9.10) i cant get a lock on any dvb-s2 transponder.

There were one or two people who were interested in implementing it (I don't remember who) but so far I am not aware of actual code submissions.
