Hi, after struggling a long time I now have the FloppyDTV card working on the DVB-T service Digitenne working on Ubuntu 9.04. I have seen it working in Kaffeine. I have yet to get it working in LiveTV, but I'm now pretty confident that it will eventually work, so that I can record some stuff that's worth while viewing in between the ad's :-)

Digitenne is a FTW DVB-T service in NL. I have a Conax CAM and Digitenne card, which is mandatory to get our encrypted channels working.

Feel free to compare notes. Thanks for the hard work and support especially but not limited to to bbackx amongst others.

My first FloppyDTV card turned out to be defective, but I had it replaced and now it shows a red light when it's powered up and OK.

Sounds exciting :) It would be great if you would post some details on your setup. I've been trying to get my FireDTV C/CI working with an Irdeto CAM, but encrypted channels only work some of the time. I've tried to find the problem, but so far all I know is the some times the PMT packages in the stream does not include the channel I'm trying to watch.

Hopefully your notes could be helpful in me finding my problem :)

/johs

I had a lot of trouble with the card in 9.04, but had Discovery on my screen, so it definitely worked. I upgraded my setup to 9.10 (actually clean install on new disk) and the card gets recognised right away in the Livetv menu entry. However, only the public channels are available at this time. Please note that I have not compiled a driver for the card at this time for 9.10, this is just using a default setup. But I'm optimistic. I see a lot of improvement in 9.10 in general, so letÅ› see if we can get this to work. If it's not going to work, I'll be considering going to satellite tv on the long term.

OK, late reply, but my FloppyDTV is now working 100% in Mythbuntu 9.10. It is able to record and view all channels, including commercial channels using a Conax CAM and a dutch Digitenne card. It can record multiple channels in the same mux. There is no configuration to be done except to choose the card from the Backend capture card setup. So, while Mythbuntu is not fully plug and play (you still need to get some extra configuration done simply to view DVD's, but that's limited to getting extra codecs downloaded and working) it is a viable option against Windows MCE. For one, it detects and skips commercial breaks.

Thanks for all involved to get it working. This is really great.

Hi pnauta,

Congrats on getting it all working.

Is there anything you had to do to resolve the issue you mention in your post on 19-NOV, in which you said only public channels (=not encrypted?) work for Mythbuntu 9.10? Because in your last post on 12-DEC you mention commercial (=encrypted?) channels were now working with no configuration to be done - did you need to apply any patches or kernel updates on the Mythbuntu 9.10 standard kernel?

Thanks...
