Hi,

Is the driver currently actively developed? Where can I see the status/history?
In the new Linux kernel 2.6.31 it is recommended to use the new firewire stack. Does the driver already support that? If not, is it planned to do so?
Does the driver work with CAMs?

Yes, there are a couple of us doing work on the driver when our spare time permits us. As far as I know, Stefan R has done some work on integration with the new firewire stack, but so far I think that essential parts are still missing.

Regarding CA support, it is working on some setups, including Swedish DVB-T with Viaccess (however with newly discovered problems after the operator's latest upgrade).
