It would be good to know the current status of the CI parts of the drivers and to try to smoke out as much as possible of the remaining bugs in this area. It would be really helpful if people using CAMs could provide the following information in a post on this topic:
  • Are you having trouble getting encrypted channels to work?
  • What CA system do you use (Viaccess, Conax, Irdeto, etc.)?
  • What CAM manufacturer do you use?
  • Enable logging in the driver, try to decrypt an encrypted channel and paste the log lines that starts with "APP PMT" and the ones directly after that that starts with FCP -> su=5.0 l=??: CONTROL - Host2CA.
  • Enable logging in the driver, try to decrypt an encrypted channel and paste the following log lines (printed early in the process)
    FCP -> su=5.0 l=12: STATUS - CA2Host
    FCP -> 01 28 00 00 12 87 57 00 01 00 00 00
    FCP <- su=5.0 l=??: IMPLEMENTED/STABLE - CA2Host
    FCP <- <This is the interesting part>

This would be really helpful. Especially to get the log extract from both working and non working setups.

Grabbing the logs mentioned in the post above means that you will need to apply the "refine AVC debug" patch found in the link in my signature since that has not yet reached a stable kernel. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hello,

I cannot watch encrypted channels yet on FloppyDTV-S2. I updated my system and I´m using now:

Debian SID
Kernel 2.6.33-rc2
Mythtv 0.22.20091023-1
Astoncrypt 2.18 Cam
Tv Vlaanderen Seca3 Smartcard

The kernel has your 0001-firedtv-add-parameter-to-fake-ca_system_ids-in-CA_I patch applied.

With Debug (0xFFFE) enabled I get the following logs:

Kernel:
http://pastebin.com/f77c28e1e

MythTV:
http://pastebin.com/m72f738

I hope this help.

Regards,

eli
